Will the JW.Org Site make a difference ?
by Phizzy init will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.
this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.
probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.

It already has...it is the golden calf to which the sacrifices are being made. A tract campaign costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in printing costs and countless millions in gas and time consumed by those participating...these are the sacrifices, the burnt offerings to the idol that it has become...just wait for the jewelry line and tattoos!

Separation of Powers
Yeah...pretty much. Life is suffering. We need to address how to deal with that suffering NOW...not simply hold in expectation something that will address it in the future. Faith is the "assured expectation of things hoped for" well, I don't HOPE for anything. I live each day as if it was my last. I tell my family I love them. I mend fences when they break down. I cherish the little things. Faith kept me blind to the NOW in longing for tomorrow. Life is a miracle...have faith in that!

They are large and cover a good bit of area. Depending on just when they were gathered, if, for example, they were gathered when the fruit was ripe, then they would more than likely be a bit sticky because of the fig juice dripping on them from when birds would eat the fruit. That would make them adhere to the body better...

It may be a requirement to memorize every one of their names in order to gain eternal life. Its like the citizenship test for the immigrant. Who was the first President of the Republic?

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

Julia, you already know the answer to that question. If God is not interested in the plight of millions of people living in the sub-saharan, dying of starvation and plague; if he is not interested in the plight of the impoverished and the abuse wreaked on them by the elite; if he is not interested in the millions of innocents that die as a result of warfare and political strife...then he is simply not interested. Your upbringing and indoctrination, as well as mine, has made us believe that God intervenes in our behalf to "bless" us, but have you ever asked...what makes "us" so special? The ORG has taught that "Jehovahs eyes are upon the righteous to do good toward them" as it says in the Old Testament. But, when something goes wrong or our prayers are not answered they say things like, "well, God really doesn't intervene like that anymore" or "the blessings are really "spiritual" blessings, that's all we should expect." It is a copout. It is a sham. If God blesses us for serving him, then we should be blessed.
It is like the Psalmist Asaph who said that he contemplated the veritable "good life" of the unrighteous. He recognized that people not serving God sometimes have it better. More often than not...that is true. People who don't serve God are typically defined one of two ways. A) they are self-reliant, recognizing that whatever they have, whatever they are is dependent solely on themselves... OR 2) they capitalize on those that are not self-reliant and use them as a stepping stone to move ahead in the world.
To think that God blesses me financially or otherwise while a baby is dying of AIDS or some other disease, or a mother of two is lying in a hospital bed and suffering from a brain tumor with no medical insurance, or that father of that new baby boy gets maimed in some industrial accident and has absolutely no one to help his family...is the epitome of arrogance.
This life is up to US.....you and me, as individuals must make our own way. We must contend with the strife. We must count the blessings of happenstance and fate. Take the reins of your life and ride! Make things happen. Live a life that gives to people that don't have and need. BE THE BLESSING in the lives of others.
Good luck on you job quest. Remember...there are literally trillions of dollars moving around inthe world economy...some of it is earmarked for you.
(Sorry if the post seems somewhat cynical...it is reality as I see it.)

World Events bring about A Renewed Zeal!!!
by jk-ton inhi guys!
is anyone sensing an increasingly sanctimonious arrogance in j-dubs recently?
im asking this as i am finding that with the two major news stories in the last few weeks (ie.

Separation of Powers
There is a "speeding up" of the sanctimonious attitude of JW's. The JW.ORG novelty is the cause. They have moved into the 21st century with a website replete with videos, PDF files, and nice looking graphics. It is only because of Holy Spirit that this has happened. Holy Spirit has directed the new and improved GB to help assist in the speeding up work so that the "little one" can become a mighty nation.
Young and old, especially 30-somethings reaching out for more notariety are all over this. JumboTrons at the assemblies to help personalize the GB and assist people in believing that they are all on the same page. They are blessed now more than ever!
Like the Israelites of old, the JW's want a human figure to follow. It is, as I have mentioned in a previous post, the cult of personality that most attracts people. They want their Stephen Lett's with the over-the-top mannerisms and funny grandpa looks. They want a visible king and a visible temple. They have it with both the new and improved attention seeking GB and the temple that is JW.ORG.
Events in the world haven't had much of an impact in my opinion....JW's are probably one of the least educated with regard to what is truly happening in the world. They are like pre-teens busy with some teeny-bopper boy band. Posters and idolization. Can't wait to see JW.ORG jewelry and t-shirts for sale on the website. OR the Like us on Facebook logo to appear below the VISA/MasterCard logo....
Sanctimonious? You got that right!

Oh, by the way, if you are in an apartment, the apartments that surround you may be the cause. the option above will create a "persona non-grata" environment and although you may see an occasional roach, chances of them roosting in your apartment are slim.
The other option if apartment dwelling is your situation...find another apartment. Even if roaches are not roosting in my apartment, if I see one, I go crazy...could not take it AT ALL!

Here you go....ready? This is what I did when I saw just one and only one cockroach in my house...
Empty everything out of your cupboards....every cupboard. high and low.
Throw out everything not 100% sealed, all cereals and chip bags, everything.
Clean all bottles and cans with a minimal bleach solution.
Clean all cupboard shelves and door with a minimal bleach solution.
Pull your fridge out from against the wall and clean under it...all of it. Clean the back of your fridge as well.
Inspect every single appliance particularly the toaster and microwave. Roaches love grease (oh by the way, they love earhair, nosehair, and eyebrow hair also...that should give you more of an incentive to disinfect everything.) so make sure the filter in your micro is clean and the underside of the micro as well. THe toast particles in your toaster and even the underside of your blender.
Once everything is clean and the non-sealed items are discarded. Then you can restock the shelves.
Now, You must obliterate all sign of them....they hide in cracks. So, you have to get a vacuum. Not a stand up push/pull vacuum, but a tank vacuum, wet-dry... Strong suction.
Take the bleach solution and test to make sure that it wont stain your floor in some obscure little area. With a small brush, go around all the base boards and edges with the solution following right behind with the vacuum. When all the edges are done, disinfect the rest of the floor
Once everything is clean and disinfected, then and only then would I suggest stuff like boric acid. It may kill the roaches that come into contact with it, but if they are in your box of cheerios laying their little eggs and "breeding" then there really is no need.
Call me obsessive compulsive on this if you would like. I hate bugs and will not screw around with roaches particularly. After you have done all that you can do from a hygenic standpoint....bring in a pest controller and have them spray inside and out.
Take all boxed or bagged food that your family eats and put it in sealable containers, no not the cheap stuff, the "in your face roaches" stuff.
That may well do the trick. It did for me.
